Attendees had the chance to interact with various helmets, textile jackets, protective jeans and leggings, boots, and gloves. This year’s display also featured an exciting new addition of aftermarket impact protectors, which can be used to extend the life and performance of your protective riding gear.

The “wall of protection” attracted significant attention, showcasing the different materials that make up motorcycle protective gear, including full-grain leather, ballistic nylon, carbon fibre, denim, and Kevlar.
Dr Chris Hurren, Chief Scientist at the MotoCAP testing lab, represented the team and engaged with attendees about the crucial role MotoCAP plays in testing the gear that riders choose to wear. He highlighted how MotoCAP helps them review, compare, and make informed decisions before purchasing new gear, ultimately enhancing their safety on the road.
“We were thrilled to participate in such a prestigious event,” Dr Hurren stated. “Our mission has always been to inform riders about the best protective options available, and the MotoGP provided an unparalleled platform to connect with both enthusiasts and industry professionals to improve their knowledge around protective motorcycle gear – we were overwhelmed with the positive response.”
Visitors to the Spokes expo enjoyed interactive displays and a game show-style quiz where they could compete against each other, testing their knowledge of protective safety gear and the Australian MotoGP. The event at Phillip Island was more than just a racing spectacle; it was a celebration of motorcycle culture and safety.
The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and many expressed appreciation for MotoCAP’s commitment to rider safety through the star rating and evaluating program. Knowledge of MotoCAP was approximately 40% - 50% of attendees who visited the expo. Rider’s knowledge of the program was mostly attributed to MotoCAP visiting local motorcycle clubs around Australia and New Zealand.
